Re: TDIH - Weather Report Suite |
Howdy D!
Yes that one is good too. Isn't that the one where Phil makes some comment about this being the quiet part right before they start?
As for LI, I don't think I am. That trip should be in October and I have been trying to limit my traveling while we are still getting acclimated to the new digs. Of course the wife doesn't see it that way as i am heading to Baltimore, DC and back to Miami over the next 2 and half weeks. Might have to come up some other excuse to come up in the spring or maybe i can time another Miami trip with your annual visit to the Keys.

Re: TDIH - Weather Report Suite |
The full WRS, is one of Weir's greatest achievements . This kind of gentle pastoral beauty slowly leaves him ( and the band ) by the 80's . He starts writing in a more "urban" feel .And his guitar tone becomes increasingly more jagged,"grey, steel" in feel . I like "Stranger", and "Victim", but when you listen to the WRS part one, you can't help wish they could have still pulled that off later .

I hear you. If you ever get the opportunity, check out the acoustic demo of WRS that he did. It was commercially released as a bonus track on the re-release of Wake Of The Flood. Really nice stuff.
